    what's old for a tire

I was told my tires were made on the 9th week of the year 2011. They were purchased as new tires too. Anyone think thats old for a tire to be sold as new? Just surprised because when I buy something sold as new, I expect it to be new. Don't buy used when it comes to tires.

That is new? Probably stacks of tires in a warehouse and they pick from the oldests date of manufacturing to the most recent. Get rid of the older stock. So I guess they're NOS tires. Just because it was made then doesn't mean it's used like you stated. If stored probably a tire made back in the early 1900's could still be brand new today

The shelf life of a well made tire is greater than that of a human.
