Need help with 83 atc 70

So i orderd this for my sons atc 70:

im putting it all back together and noticed the the timing chain is pretty tight with the new top end and head i put on. I have the guide backed all the way out and it barely goes into place. this will warp the cam and crank if i tried using it like this? (im guessing). is there anything i might have missed while putting it back together that would cause this problem.

You want the chain tight, just not too tight.

I would take the tensioner all the way out and put it back in. From that picture it doesn't look all the way out to me.

Thanks for the reply. Im not sure how to take the tensioner all the way out. I unscrewed the bolt on the bottom of the engine right below where its located and also unscrewed the bolt out in front of the tensioner aswell (the ones with the squares).
