What kind of riding are you going to be doing and do you have any motor work done? I'm going to try 14/37 on mine for dune riding and mine is a 310.

13-37 is stock on the T3
Its gonna do a little of everything. But mostly its a trail machine and alot of its life is going to be ripping up corners and blasting at high speeds on the straights.

I will likely stay with the Stock gearing, but was curious what that other riders had picked and how it was it was working for them.

Hopefully mine will be done in a few weeks and I can see how my gearing works out. I went +1 tooth on my front sprocket of my 350x and 250r and liked it so that's where I am going to start out with the Tecate also.

I will be running stock sprockets with stock tire height, stock bore. I haven't heard any complaints or witnessed any problems for general riding. Stock gearing always seemed to be fast in first and fast in fifth, lol.
Definitely been some years ago though. To me it was a pretty nice put-n-run ratio. Have you ever ridden a Tecate before? They move fast! Pretty fast for tight woods riding. Try out the old sprockets and chain if you have them.

2nd gen t3's are very limited one rear sprocket sizes these days unless you go to an aluminum rear. I run 14/35 with 18" tires so it's probably pretty close to stock gearing.

That was my question- where are you buying assorted sizes of rear 86/87 T3 sprockets?

I searched JT sprockets and found bolt hole patterns that were the same but not the tapered holes themselves.

You can get custom sprockets from sidewinder in steel and other variations of steel. That's your only option for smaller rear sprockets unless you get lucky and find one like ben did on ebay.
Looking for a Bassani silencer for a 2nd gen tecate, the style with the movable mount. 1st gen will work

I think the best option is have several sprockets and chains. Although expensive, you will have the right combination for most every circumstance, like racing or keeping up with the R's sixth gear. Making Tecates the main drain, finally will have those sprockets/tire/rim combinations to choose from for many variables and situations. Gives the ability to fine tune and experiment, which for me is the most fun anyway. Good experiences with the aluminum sidewinder sprockets here, I vouch!
