    Did I wreck my swingarm?

On my 84 200x I needed to replace the swingarm pivot bearings. But they were trashed. Rusted in and fell apart. I tried getting the rest of them out but couldn't. So I thought about trying to cut them out with a chisel. My mistake was doing this after getting off work really late and being way too tired. I thought I knew what I was doing. Well I gave up and went to bed. Did some research and I think I just wrecked my swingarm

Cant get photo to load. But I basically wrecked the part that goes into the swingarm that the bearing goes into. And i think i may have cut into to swingarm itself

Yep, that sucks. You could try to have that welded then machined back down.

You can fix anything with a welder!

If you can't do it, bring it to a fab or machine shop, with a case of beer.

Yea after I did that I stepped back and was like wait... "I probably just messed up big time."
I wish I could weld... I tried in high school. It looked terrible. But dont think its salvageable. I messed it up bad in my frustration becuase im impatient.

Guess its time to buy a replacement.

FYI, when I was little I would get impatient when working on trike & bikes and things would go bad.

One of the top 3-4 wheelers guys in the industry told me to just look at the part for 10 mins BEFORE you fix it, if it starts going bad STOP and come back to it in 15 mins. or more.

I followed what he said and know I don't even own a , it works.

I wouldn't trash your swinger just because of that. Clean it up with a file or Dremel and fill it with JB weld. When you do your periodic maintenance give it a looking over to check for cracks.
I'm basing this opinion off of where I think the damaged area is, tough to tell from just that picture.

Copy that F76, you still have some metal to work with. Are the bearings still in there or did you get them out. I had to remove the old bearings on my 84 x swinger and it wasn't easy. But as onformula stated, with a little patience and a cold thing worked out. Just filed away the gouges I made and put the new bearings in.

I can't tell exactly what I'm looking at in that picture, but I had some really bad bearings in an aluminum Suzuki swinger that were a challenge to get out. I ended up grinding through the steel outer bearing shell with a carbide burr in a die grinder, until the bearing wasn't whole anymore, just a "C" shape. after that it came right out.

Your 200X swinger should be steel. I agree with everyone who has suggested welding and grinding back to original shape. That will fix it inexpensively, and should come out better than you think if you find a decent welder.

Can you get a better pic of where the damage is? It doesn't really look all that bad, a better pic would help.

Medford is South of Faribault right? If yer up for a drive next Saturday you could run up to my place and I could see if I can fix it for ya. I live just North of Elk River, probably an hour and a half from you.
