    I finished the installation of a led light bar on my 350x this afternoon. I had an extra 350x head light that was painted, warped, scratched, both headlights were mangled, and generally in poor shape. Tried to find two LEDs that would fit in the oem bezel but just couldn't find anything, everything was always too tall. I decided on a decent light bar from superbrightleds.com and cut the middle out of the beat up bezel. Turned out decently well, plan on making a black plastic filler piece to fill the void around the bar.

    Anyone have any long term experience with running LEDs on their ac voltage bikes? I keep hearing mixed things about life expectancy of LEDs running ac power, and needless to say would hate to ruin a light bar. It lights up fine and the flickering goes away with a bit of throttle but I'm thinking long term life expectancy.

    How did you make the surround? Looks great. I've ran a 13.5" led bar on my ytm for a whole season now and never had an issue. Hope mine doesn't wreck due to the power supply maybe add a in line capacitor?

    By surround do you mean the red plastic around the light? If so, it's a 350x head light with the middle plastic cut out of it.

    did you check to see what kind of voltage that light bar accepts? Idk if the 350x comes with a stock regulator like the 250r (im sure it does) so if the light bar accepts only dc voltage you should be okay but if it doesn't have a regulator and only accepts dc voltage you'll most likely have problems

    350x's do come with a regulator stock thankfully. The light bar is getting regulated 12vac power. However I've received multiple comments from others saying that I'm going to ruin the light bar using ac power. I emailed superbrightleds and asked directly if it will harm the life expectancy of the light, waiting to hear back from them currently. I would convert to dc power but my head is still spinning trying to comprehend all the floating ground lingo and adding reg/rec with a battery and so on.

    yeah if the lightbar requires dc voltage you'll most likely burn it out using ac voltage. There are led pods/lightbars out there that accept ac voltage
