200x bearing collar length.

Im looking for the length of the bearing collar tube between the two rear axle bearings on a 200x. Unfortunatly i took my bearings out before thinking of measuring. Ive read a few responces that say around 4.12 inches but just want to make sure. Also so i dont have to start another thread, where does everyone get fork seals from for theor 200x's? I looks like i can atill get them from honda but am wondering if there is a better/cheaper alterative. Thanks everybody for bearing with me through this 200x build, its almost done!

Tons of cheaper, not better alternatives on Ebay for your fork seals. I would go with OEM, more money and better quality.

You picked a good time to ask, I just made one for my '84 200X about 3 weeks ago. I used 1.25" black iron pipe, which fits better than the oem spacer I took out, and I machined it to 4.130". It works perfectly, but I would have been happier with 4.132" for a little snugger fit.

1.25 is the ID or OD? could you give dimensions on both? thank you

1.25" ID black iron pipe. I bought an 8" long "pipe nipple" as its called (threaded at both ends) at home depot for $6, and trimmed it down to length on a friend's lathe. I didn't measure the od, as you have a little bit of extra room inside the swingarm, and it wasn't really a concern. I actually made 2 of these (I cut the first one .004 shorter than I meant to so I made a second one just in case). I ended up using the first one anyway, and it works fine. I was aiming for 4.134, ended up at 4.130, and decided to give it a try. It doesn't seem to overly side-load the bearings, and spins smoothly. Thats why I said you could probably make it 4.132 and be perfect.

BTW- my beat up stock spacer came out at 4.107! No wonder the axle didn't want to turn the axle nuts were torqued properly!

I need a spacer for the front axle on an 85 250ES. Went out to the garage, grabbed the axle found a piece of 1" black iron pipe and it fits perfectly. Well, it's just a hair large, but I want to be able to grease up the axle so the spacer doesn't rust to the axle again.
