Sorry I realized I never helped with your question. I'm not real familiar with the TR200 Fat Cats. But if they are like anything else Honda built during that time the top ends will be interchangeable with most other Honda engines. Ia that an automatic clutch or were they standard, as in pull a clutch lever to change gears?

Nice. It's probably no different than any other 200 auto then.

the TR 200 motor is very much alike to the TRX200SX quad and the ATC200X (86-87) but none of them are the same. The Fat Cat has Electric start - auto clutch and chain drive. the quad is shaft drive, the ATC200X is not Electric start and it has a manual clutch. All share many top end parts - but there is no exact motor replacement - it is a one of a kind motor.

You have this right except that the TRX200sx is chain drive. My guess is that you could swap those engines between either of those frames.
The 1984 TRX200 is shaft drive. The trx200sx was made from 1986 to 88. There was another honda TRX200 and Type II that were sold on up to around 1996 or so. I think that engine is the same too.

I would think used parts are very hard to find for this cat?
