The axle is called a "play axle" Are those axles made for duning? I've never heard the term hefore. Very interesting conversion. It would be cool to see a picture of that axle end where the hub slides on.
Looks like a snapring at the end. I was wondering about the billet fuel cap and the thumb throttle too if you get a chance.
Looks like real fun ahead for you!

Thanks. Yes it’s called their play axle made for duning, it’s a 40mm solid aluminum axle 34” wide and they hold up very well. The hubs are all keyed and clamped on, here’s a couple pictures.
The snap ring just keeps the hub from sliding off the end in case. The throttle is a Honda one with an aftermarket top, gas cap and throttle cover are from a machine shop I used to work at. We made a bunch of atv parts including some Tecate parts for a few years but they have stopped doing that now.

Finally got out today and messed with the Tecate some. Had to pull one of the 70’s out also and give it a pull start. After the 3rd try it fired up and not it starts every 1st or 2nd kick usually. I’m not really sure why it didn’t want to run before, maybe it just needed a little lesson from a Honda on how to run lol.
