Brand New in the crate TRX70

Thought you guys might like to see this....i found it in the deep south at a collector that bought a load of honda bikes in the crate back in the 80's
i know i have de-valued it by taken it out of the crate but i don't care, its for my own collection also leaving it in the crate wasn't doing it any good as you can see by the pics almost a inch of dust on it ,any longer left it would have started to deteriorate.
So i de-crated, cleaned and then polished .... only parts that have started to deteriorate are the handle bars and throttle cover?? very little but i have both new in stock if they start to piss me off... no rust in the tank though
i'm never going to put fuel or ride this bike just for the collection.

That's amazing. Did he have any more left? Or any bikes left that he never rode like you are doing?

I would of saved the crate too lol. Pretty neat.

Looks way better on the shelf put together the way it is supposed to be than in an old box.

totally awesome find sir!!! I am seriously jealous!!!
did that dude have other stuff still in boxes?

I think the nostalgia of having a virgin never touched, ridden, or even assembled one is what some collectors were looking for. It does look awesome, but now you will never get that back which yea takes some value away from it, but it's more than value, it's something that cannot be discussed in writing. When w e got our son's first race quad, it was in the crate never assembled. I actually had a thought of not opening the crate and ordering one that was already assembled just because of how awesome it would have been to have it that way. But later (5 min) I realized I needed it for my son, not myself and he wants to to ride and race not look at, so out it came.

don't ever put fluids in it or even start it. take the plug out, spray some WD-40 once a year in the cylinder, in the carb opening and slide, and in the engine oil fill area just to keep things nice and clean. I would even sprak a tiny bit in the tank to keep rust away.
outside of that, let it sit in the shelf and enjoy it as it is. it is a very nice piece for sure!
