Thanks guy, I'm doing more to it with things polishing the gear box, stuff that no one will ever see but I want everything to be as good or better then it ever was. There is only one of these in the world, I feel I have to give it my best.

    Mickey,
What are the benefits to polishing the transmission? My guess, less rotating mass with oil sliding off the polished surface, oil flows to the pump/filter/cooler faster. I've heard people polishing connecting rods to break surface tension of the metal so they bend instead of break. Are you going to polish the inside of the cases?

Did Honda let you keep the bikes you rode?
What's the background story on this one?
Sorry if this has been explained, maybe a different thread has that?

I lived in Bend OR. and Honda didn't want to pay to ship them to Cal. to crush them so they just needed the numbers off it. This one was one Honda built for me to race the Baja Cross races so I could just fly down there to race and not have to drive from Bend all the time. I won the championship with this bike. It was my last 4 stroke I raced for them before they built us the 200cc 2 stroke works bikes.

An '83 200x was my first ever dirtbike, my parents said they couldn't afford to buy me one... so at 11yrs I got a paper route, saved for about a year and a half, the old man got me a loan, and I paid $56mo for the next year and a half... I like this.... I remember you, reading about anyway, from those days... Mickey, I'm glad you're reviving a piece of this history.

All I have been doing the past two day is run from one doctor to the other this week, but at least I was close to the powder coater today and was able to pick up the frame!

The frame has had the front cut off and tucked in 2 degrees and the down tube re-enforced down by the front motor mounts. Just little things that no one knew about.
