The flywheel was hard to remove even using a flywheel puller. Cleaned up the points but now flywheel wont go back in. I mean even tapping it with aisn't helping. Did I miss something?

It sounds like the woodruff key moved a little out of place, or is slightly deformed. Try gently tapping on the key with ato see if it rocks in its slot. If it does, pry it out, inspect/file off any burrs, and reinstall it and try again. If its stuck, get a new one, because you're going to kill the old one getting it out to inspect it.

Thanks for the reply YTZ. Looks like I was able to remove the flywheel without removing the case hence the issue putting it back in...brain fart on my part.
