83 200 takes awhile to start

I have a 1983 Honda 200. Just a plain 200 with the pull start. It takes quite a few pulls to get it started, and I hve to give it some gas. And some times it won't even start. I replaced the pull rope, spring, dogs and all the other little parts in there. I would like it to start on the first or second pull. Any input on why it takes a few pulls to start it? Spark plug and wire looks new and I replaced all the pull rope stuff. How do I fix it and get it to start in the first couple pulls.

That's what a couple other people said to. This is my first three wheeler so im not to familiar with them. But ill give that a shot. Thanks!
