    tire question

I am looking at getting a new set of tires for my big reds. I have an 84 200 and an 85 250.

the tires currently on them are pretty good for most of what I do except riding through the creek and trying to get out of the creek.
as long as I have some speed I don't get stuck on muddy slopes or anything but if I had to stop and restart or even slow down I would be screwed.
as I live just outside of san Antonio I have gotten lots of mud time in and floating time in in the past few weeks. a few weeks ago I tried to go through the creek and nearly got stuck in about 6 inches of water when trying to get out. the slight slope was too much in the mud for my current tires.

I don't want an all out mudding tire as most of what I do is trail riding but I do want something that will get me in and out of some. what would be a good match.

I personally like the Kenda Bear Claw, they're. reasonably priced, and have good traction. I had them on an 84 Yamaha 200 and i just put a pair on the rear of my girlfriends scrambler. They do look somewhat aggressive , but they ride smoothly on trails, and they seem to resist punctures pretty well.

Only you can be the judge there. And who says mud tires don't ride good on the trails? Aren't trails usually muddy at least is some areas anyway? If you were more into speed I would lead you in another direction but if you're in the trails in the woods than get a nice aggressive tire. You won't be disappointed.

usually down here in south texas it is usually dry as hell and 100+.
the creek I was referring to is a year round creek but you can walk through it and not get your knees wet in 90% of the places.
right now we are having flooding but that only happens once every 10 years or so.
but if aggressive will still ride smooth then no worries.

I like the bearclaws, very good 2 ply tire with wide range capability.

I am an atv/motorcycle tire salesman. First off, the bear claw 25x12.5-9 is a good all around tire but it doesn't run true to size when mounted. Not many imported tires do. Personally, goodyear brought back the 25x11.5-9 rawhide 3. Runs true to size and has a cool tractor like tread design. Check them out here: :http://www.titanstore.com/info/AR3051

Another user on here QCR77 has the same tires and check them out in his thread here: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...awhide-3-tires
