Hey guys! I've been creeping around on the forums for a while as a guest, so I decided to make an account. I grew up on an old Big Red 250 that got me in a lot of trouble, which is why my uncle ended up selling it before I killed myself. Now I was just given a little '78 ATC 90. It fires up pretty easy, but the rear wheels are rusted out and the brake and throttle levers are missing. With new levers, rear wheels, and some carb work it'd be a pretty good little trike. Only problem is so far I can't get a title for it. Idaho categorizes it as an "Abandoned Vehicle", and via the law I must contact the DMV, find the last registered owner, then contact them and get them to send me the title. According to the sticker it was last registered in California in 1987, so I called the California DMV (what a mess that was) and they couldn't find any record of the vin or tag number in their system. So now the only option I have here in Idaho would be to take it to court and do a Quiet Title on it, but my lawyer friend said it'd probably cost more in fees than the trike is worth. Was really hoping for a cheap trail trike out of it to run up in the mountains, but for now I think I'll get the new parts for it, and get it running decent, then just use it around the farm for now. (since I don't need registration for farm use).
