Non-cracked clutch covers are very hard to come by. If you have a good one, keep it that way by replacing all the screws with allen head or hex head screws, torque them all evenly and to the correct spec, and use a proper gasket, no rtv! Also, there aren't many modern front tire choices for the '86 model 23-8-12 size.

Thanks i'm still kicking it back and forth on rebuilding one or parting them all. I work at a powder coating place so paint not an issue.I know how to do all the work. I it would be ashame to let them all die.

I remember going thru ebay looking for plastics for my Honda and seeing some yellow fenders and such for your yamaha. How are the plastics?

Don't throw older fenders. Use as extra fenders. When bashing through gravel./ gravel pits and mud and winter. New fenders show piece. Or dessert, fields, sand / sand pits. No difference in 85 86. From spec website that is.

Got any pics of your basket cases? We like pics. I'd love to get my hands on a Tri-Z 250 someday.

Tri z would stomp on a 250r (depending on mods) if they are both stock. Tri-z those things were built to beat the 250r. Now if you say 350 r then Honda take the cake again.
