Do you know what happened to the Simons UDX forks?
Did you find the front brake caliper you needed.

As always- Everything I post is IMHO.
OC250r has our UDX KTM, he and i confirmed it is our old bike. Its the "chopped Honda" some guys gave him crap about a few years back in some long forgotten thread about it i only found by google search on Franks three wheelers.
I have the caliper, its the Grimeca front master cylinder that was stolen off the Rotax for one of my Quad racers in 86. Same time it lost its number plate and gear shift...was hard getting parts back in those days living in the sticks so kinda had to recycle bikes like that at times. You know how it is.
I need the front brake version of this -
But i can not even find pictures of it on the internet let alone a source and it was something i never saw besides on Kelvin's bikes. You can see it in the photos of my Rotax a few pages back, square brake fluid reservoir with a silver top.
About the best shot i have of it.

John, a little off topic, but can you explain the reasoning for the very small rear fenders.
It seems like they offered no protection.
result of wanting less drag on the 1/4 speedways and not being able to put the fiberglass back on for the other 95% of the tracks :P

John thanks so much, well everyone who has posted actually, for these pictures. I've been bedridden for far too long now and this stuff is great.
I don't mean to hurt any feelings, think of it as a term of endearment maybe... But that XR500 conversion I'd be hard pressed to call handsome, haha. As long as it held it's own though which obviously you all are the experts on! Every time I see it with the other bikes it looks like someone on a Segway pushing a wheel barrow around or something, haha. I don't know. Not trying to be a smart arse or anything...

@fabiodriven - No hurt feelings, those early bikes of ours with the cut fenders and weird tire sizes are "unique" looking to put it nicely, in that last set that is my funky little 200 that has the big rears and the little front so we had weird looking bikes to spare![]()
@El Camexican - Yeah ive found a few Grimeca front brakes like that one but they are all 1995 or newer and i am trying to stay period correct on the obvious stuff.
So far this is as close as i have found to at least looking correct.

or this one

since its something i can put on at anytime i am waiting till the bike is back together before deciding on the off chance ill happen across the exact type i am looking for, as low as those odds are seeming atm
Still good stuff. Keep it coming.
John it appears there are several cc bikes on the line.....At your local races did they line up all the classes at the same time and run them all together?
* 1978 ATC 90/180 Pauter PJ1 / Springer "Team BAPP" Bike *
* 1980 ATC 110/180 "Danny's Machine Works" 3D Sprint Dune Bike *
* Nicholson 500 Race Bike *
* HPATC Yamaha RD350 "Big Moe" Trike *
i am not sure really, #55 was a pretty good rider so its not the 200 class combined with the 250 amateurs like they sometimes did
could of just been a small turn out and he was the only 250 that day
couple more pics
San Jose flat track nationals in 82,#29 is Mark Amero and i am on the #10.We where always close on speed and had lots of close races over the years and i had a lot of repect for him as a rider. I had bike problems all weekend with a unknown engine issue that we never did resolve and placed well out of the top 10. I moved to a 200x not long after this and my Nicholson was retired.

#17 and 18 are my friends Bobby and Matt, wish i could remember #55's name.

Curtis Sparks out front as usual with #475 Dan Lamey in tow on a extremely trick Yamaha Tri Moto 200 fourstroke that Rob Selvy built with a chromoly steel frame and long travel suspension.The #143 and #178 are brothers Greg and Scott Hunsucker with me bringing up the rear. I do not recall what track this is from. Everyone but Dan is on a Nicholson frame 200 Honda.

Motley crew mix and match of home built bikes. Before the 200x came out the 200 class always had a wide range of unusual entries.

Sorry, I have periods of time where the days/weeks seem to get away from me and I don't check this thread. Here is the master cylinder. For the chain buffer I used a green orthotic material that looks pretty good...not sure how durable it is compared to the original.

Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.
