Although the engineering may have been lacking back then they sure look like they're overbuilt. I like iron chops idea of a paint scheme "Keep on Truckin". Don't forget some period correct riding look; pork chop side burns, mullet, platform shoes, bell bottom pants and tie dyed shirt.

Want to thank fabiodriven. I guess the freeze off is helping. The first stop collar took about an hour and the second one was off in 25 minutes. Now to loosen sprocket (is like a compressor sheave to loosen but is rusted) then axle bearings. And not sure how to deal with brake rotor as no set screw is visible but patience patience patience. (My a??)

Glad to see you're still at it. At least it appears you're working with steel so applying some love, i.e. heat, won't hurt nothing. Mattdrogontamer had some success with a product called Metal Rescue that literally eats rust. If you could somehow submerge those parts and let them sit it may work. My vote is still with ironchop on color, loud and proud metalflake something groovy.

Success. Axle bearing finally understood that it was time to come off brake rotor must float as no set screw and slid right offClick image for larger version.

Sorry for being a post whore on this, I REALLY want to see this beast come alive. Did you come to a definite decision on the motor yet? Are you going to do your own fibreglass work?

Will be trying to do glass work myself as I think I can make a form to hold the sale needed motor is up in the air as I was given an 8hp Briggs with it have a 10hp Briggs I had for awhile and a 6.5 Honda so finances may dictate one of these but who knows maybe a JLO 230 will fall from the sky lol. Metalflake pInt sounds great but think it should say "keep on trikin"
