1987 Honda Atc 200x full restoration

Hello, everyone. So I've made some considerable progress on my three wheeler. I thought I would start this thread in trikesylvania so more people could see it. To see the rest of my work on it here's the link, http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...Honda-Atc-200x. I have restored every detail on this bike very few things were replaced. However anything that was damaged I did replace.

Here is the list of nos parts:
    Correct 87 seat
    Grips and end caps
    Chrome Headlight guard
    Speedometer and kit
    Tachometer
    Tank shrouds
    Air cleaner prefilter
    Fork boots
A few pieces of hardware and rubbers
    Light bulbs
    Spark plug and plug cap

Here's a list of some of the things I did:
Stripped polished and re anodized the rims
All hardware was stripped, bead blasted and re zinc plated all the correct colors
All rubber got soaked in hot water, scrubbed, then soaked in natural colored amour all I wiped the excess off and it's soft and looks like new
Everything has been powder coated the correct colors
I even found a black oxide color for the hubs, kickstarter, shifter, and brake lever
The throttle lever, handlebar clamps, cam chain tensioner, rear shock and shock reservoir I stripped polished and re anodized.
The lower forks I stripped the old clear coat, polished them and finished them with a brushed finish then clear coated them with a bare metal specific clear coat.
The headlight switch I restored as well. It was faded just like all the rest, and I think it looks new.
The axle I stripped and resurfaced it, the re zinc plated it.

The fender and headlight were sent out to be polished. I did lots of sanding and took out the scratches, but couldn't get that mirror finish. They should be back in a couple weeks

Hey man nice job. I like the progress and keep the pictures coming. I am slowly doing this to my 86 when time and money is available. I haven't gone through the whole teardown and replating of everything quite yet. Shoot me a PM if you have any extra parts laying around you don't need..lol. I'm sure the 86 and 87 are pretty much the same.

Also was gonna ask what was your exact schedule for cleaning and polishing the fenders? I have heard of so many ways to do it. Your front fender looked just like mine is now. I recently just purchased a Maier rear fender but keeping the oem front fender. Just want to get some of the cracks out and make it half ass shine.

I like how your doing this. How did you do the frame? Also the brushed sliders....awsome. I don't see a lot of folks do it that way.

The frame was powder coated and the color is spot on.

The front tire on it won't be staying, I have it on just to roll it around, when I find a nicer on I will mount it to the rim I restored and switch them out. After the fenders get back, all that will be left is the tank, rear shock, and the front tire. I will be taking the shock somewhere to have it rebuild this Tuesday, and I'm trying to find a body shop to do the tank. There don't seem to be any around here.

Looks damn good. He is definitely doing it the right way. Having parts re-plated and powder-coated is the way to go.
