From what I understand, both the '85 and '86 R's grab bars are interchangeable even though they have different part numbers. So that thread really does answer your question (as does onformula1 below).
I just held out for the correct grab bar...finally found one under $200 on eBay after about a year searching.

PRM Products lists two different part numbers.
