Nice catch gents! You stated you got your limit, did you keep them for eating? Are those considered big or average size?

Absolutely kept for eating, Dorado = Mahi Mahi if your not familiar with the nomenclature. The yellow tail seared both sides like Ahi (Yellow Fin Tuna) plain or with sauce is great also. Those were average for that trip. We were targeting about that size and released anything smaller.

Amen Brother!!!! That day the tuna were off Oside about 15mi (long trip after an hour in the bait line ) . We fished patties 15-20 SW of the islands. Beautiful water as you can see. Possible trip again Sun (forcast is bumpy) but going next weekend again for sure.

That's a nice blue. It cracks me up that some "experts" are still saying that there is %70 chance of an el nino. I knew it was coming this spring when all the tuna crabs were showing up in Newport harbor. Bluefin and yellowfin showing up in early june out of Dana. Dorado by the end of June. And it just keeps going and going. I've been offshore fishing over 40 years now and I've never seen like this before. If they can't say that an EL NINO is actually here they need their head examined.

Great catches, I do miss the days of fishing in the gulf of Mexico and grilling up the fillets the same day!
