Ytm225 Dr 225 Tri Moto Front Axle

Just got a 225 DR front end to replace my 200 front end that was bent, it had no axle and my old one is to damn short !!! I can see the axle bosses are wider.

Did the DR have a longer axle or narrower trees ?

    Thanks

also how do I separate legs from tubes ? took out snap ring but still won't separate

anyone have a spare axle to sell

you didn't get a 225 dr front end you ended up with a 200 yamahauler front end which runs a 25-12-9 tire. A 225dr ran a 22-11-8 and was a narrow front, they will both fit in the down tube, but require different axle and spacers. measure the triples and you will see what I am saying your original will be about an inch or two shorter across. your best bet is to take the fork tubes out of your original triples and install the fork tubes from your new triples into them and then you can use all your original hub spacers and axle.

looking at your picture you need a different hub, spacers, and axle or you buy a set of trees for a 225, your trees are spaced for the 25" tire setup, and your fork should never taper in to meet the tire like they do. look at this picture and you will see the difference between yours and what they should look like.Click image for larger version.

ID:	220616 The cheaper option will most likely be getting a set of 225dx triples then trying to get a new hub, spacers and axle.
