Race Tech Gold Valve Cartridge Fork Emulators For Damping Rod Forks

    I am looking to put these in my 86/87 200X - 33mm I believe.

I searched for a bit on Amazon, Ebay etc; But I couldn't get any positive fitting results.

    Thanks for any help....

I put them in my 86 tecate. They don't list them according to make and model. Since they are a universal product that works with all types of forks they list them by dimensions. You will have to service your forks and measure the dimensions of the top of your damping rod, i.e., width, depth, etc., not the outside diameter of the fork tube. Then, go to the Race Tech website and match your dimensions with the right size emulator. Also, to take advantage of the adjustability of the emulator you will have to drill larger holes in the bottom of the damping rod. If you don't drill the holes larger you defeat the purpose of the emulator because the holes will regulate the fluid rather than the emulator shims and spring. If you go to Youtube you can find a video that explains how it works. Like I said, I got them for my Tecate and they work great.

Here, I found the Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3QYZEQoN_M

Since it is a universal product there were no model specific instructions. If I remember correctly the kit comes with a variety of springs, each with a different spring rate of soft, medium, and hard. Once you choose the right spring rate you can further adjust the damping with a nut that adjusts the tension on the spring. Setting them up is a matter of trial and error. You don't have to take the fork apart every time you adjust them. They sit at the base of the fork springs so you can pull them out from the top. You will need a telescoping stick with a magnet on the end (which you can buy at Home Depot or an auto parts store) to lift them up through the fork oil.
