1984 250R Jetting questions help plz

    Hi all,

I've been building a 250R that was in pieces. It has a wiseco 70.5 piston, stock carb, K&N air filter and a full DG pipe. Can anyone give me a starting point on jet size? I know stock is a 130 and I live in San Diego. I wanna get her running right and I know to start rich just not sure where.

    Thanks,
    Johnny

140-142 main should get you going. Every machine handles tuning differently so put a 42 pilot as well. get it running and holler back...

Thank you. I just happen to have a 142. I'll put that in and try it out. It is running now but the guy who had it before must have drilled out the jet that's in there. Its stamped 138 but the opening was larger than the 142. My buddy that owns a shop and used to own a two stroke soldered it closed and drilled it out. He helped but I'm not comfortable with a soldered jet so I went and guessed at a 142. I'll give it a ride and if it goes good I'll do a plug chop. Thanks again.
