Is 85 250sx carb the same as the (86-89) TRX250 or TRX300 4 wheeler Carb? I know that the engines are almost the same from 86-89 (TRX) But are they the same carbs? The reason I am asking is because I had to drill out the end of the choke cable out of the carb. because it was siezed in there. Now I need that choke sleeve and spring and I don't want to pay the price honda wants to replace those parts.

I cannot say for sure but the 85 SX carb itself is different than the 86 and 87 SX models. Especially that choke plunger that got seized and ruined on you - I have found 3 different choke plungers all in SX compatable carburetors.

The TRX 250 may bolt on as even the 350X carb is a direct bolt on.

I'd look for an 86 or 87 SX carb with a plunger or find a used filthy 85 SX carb with a good plunger for your SX.

mmmmmm........ 350X carb.

I put a 350x carb on mine but make sure you change out all the jets or it wont run good. Esp the Main jet.
