Final Teecate Help so I may ride this Stubborn Biotch long term

Its alive but has heart palliations :-( And Weak Ass Biceps

So I Moved back/Counter Clockwise, the Ricky Stator line almost 1/2" from case line and its still breaking up when Im twisting it hard. Its better and I dont get kicked back over the bars due to bad timing yet she has so much more to offer. I will adjust again this weekend and get her close I hope.

Could there be a reed problem? They old but new. Its all new but its a 20 year build thats seen 5 tanks through it. Yea im a Biotch!

Now I want to DePussify, but this Biotch just hates me. Im like."aka" Honda" I just wanna ride. And Tecate Giggles, then kicks my nuts. The damn 3 Wheeler is pretty much new and she still Jams me up. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Also I lost my front fork fluid due to me being a C*nt Swabber Fashion Chump. Not running my Fork Boots for looks. Fooooolll. Dirt in the seals and you know the rest. I need a redo and as I splurged $ and 20 years I want the best front fork setup had for the stock setup.

My questions are. Whats the hot Front Fork setup for a 170 lb rider, Geared up, who rides like the cripple he is on the rough trails but Rips hard on Flat Track and Ice along with Epic Rail Bed rides and Adirondack style sand/woods trails.

Running a 400ex rear shock on Tecate. +2" rear swingarm 38 mm Air Stryker 50" rear width?
Any info would be of great help. Thx.

ok, tell us what happens after you retard the timing some more.

since the prob sounds like it is only at high rpm, it is unlikely that it is a reed problem.

i would pull the spark plug and post a photo . . if it is dry and black with carbon, it is too rich . . if the porcelain is nearly white with no carbon, it is painfully lean.

exactly is the problem with the front forks? . . it is fairly difficult to bottom them hard in stock form.

First thing I would check is the carb, might have varnish in passages.
Check coil, how healthy is the spark when you kick it over and ground the plug?
Maybe rust has increase resistance of coil? Remove coil and clean the ground.

I have gone thru several plugs and got the mixture just right with good plug results/looks. Of course I forgot what it was. Will need to look at past posts.
The fork seals leak because I thought it would look cooler with out fork boots:-( I see now that fork boots are a must with these old forks.
The carb is brand new 38mm Air Stryker no issue there.
There is some slight oil residue on the back side of the head under the carb port. I torked down bolts yet it may still leak?
I do have an original Carb Boot and shes showing her age but I dont believe its leaking air.
Oh and I need a new Petcock real bad. This one is original and now leaking a bit. Any info on the Best Petcock for 84-85 Tecate? I think I remember a Yamaha brand worked good on Tecate but just cant remember. Will have to look.

Trying to figure out the pics between my cell and also this site

I bet this Swabber is leaking air? It does rev real high when I start it at times. I keep tweaking the new throttle cable thinking thats the issue but im not so sure.

Im going in, Wish me luck. :-)

Weather is great and I must take full advantage for where I live. Doing an Oil change and tearing her down to stuff her in the house before weather goes cold for the next 6 months. Need to redo the fork seals, petcock, and fluids and get her to stop sputtering before the ice comes.
Any recommendations on the Petcock that is a good replacement for the stock one I have leaking now? I think I remember a Yamaha 4 wheeler petcock worked good for the 84-85 Tecate but that was a few years back and I dont remember the quad it was from.

Not sure about the tecates, but if the petcock is serviceable, you should be able to buy a new rubber seal for it. That is generally what goes wrong on the hondas at least. There is a post around about how to do it on a non-serviceable one too but requires drill + tap.
