Wow! Richard, I sent those adoption papers and you still haven't responded. ............

Again, amazing work! You should start selling those things. ..... looks like it rolled off yamaha's line.

So I've got most of the parts to start a build you've inspired. (But it'll be quite different than yours..... but it's a surprise) I have two questions for you.

    1) is there any chance you could make a front axle and front brake disk adapter?

I have access to a lathe, and I could probably bumble my way along, but I would be very willing to pay you to save me the trouble. (Vtx triples, 2003 yz450 forks, and 200x hub)

    2) if they answer to the first question is no, any general advice or warnings for when I tackle this?

Thanks And please let me know about the adoption papers.

I've read this entire thread. You are really refining these trikes as you go and your work appears to be top notch, great job. I bet if you put together a kit with all of the custom parts to convert a 450f, they would sell very well.....I'm looking forward to additional pics!

I think I am going to build one. Just found some 250F parts cheap local. I think these yamahas look about the best out of the newskool builds.

Can anyone advise if a 2004 yfz450 engine would fit into a similar age wr450 or yz450 frame? The reason I ask is I have a complete yfz450, plus triple clamps, extended swingarm, and other parts to convert a wr450 into a trike, but if I could use my quad engine in a wr frame it would save me a fair bit of money.

What makes you go with Yamahas over other makes?

I have never met Kasey, (Justin?) so forgive me for responding, but I assume these conversions are simpler that the other ones because many of the components are close to bolt on. And the styling of the rear fenders really lend themselves to a match for the end product. Essentially these conversions are simplistic in many ways compared to other ones out there. That, plus the fact that Yamaha make a good product.

i have stayed with yamaha because they are very well built and they have reverse engineered a lot of parts,, i can use the yz,, no lights and very simple or the wr lights and a bunch of electrical,, steel or aluminum frames,, i have been doing these for years now and like the way they look ,,, i dont feel trying to do other brands is worth the effort to basically start over with what i need to have on hand to build these,,,,, this is the 09yz i am doing now,, its going to be a spare track bike for the guys to use at the races ,, it will also see a little time in the sand...
