    i want to hop up my DX what do i need

    i want to hop up my 1984 225DX
    i dont want to hop it up to the max enough where i can at least pull the wheel off ground in 4th gear
    my dads is all stock and can pull wheel off ground in 3rd gear

    You could start off by getting a pipe for it. DG and cobra both make pipes for our dx's. Other than that you could put a higher compression pistion in it, and a hotter cam if they still make one.

    whixh is better for the DX
    DG or COBRA
    where do i get the high comp piston for it'

    For the piston look into wisco for that. I used to have a cobra pipe on my 200x and liked it but a lot of people on here don't like cobra for some reason. I've heard good things about dg, and I would get this pipe for mine if I was looking to buy one. All of these things can be found at www.denniskirk.com. Good luck!

    I put a DG on my '85 DR and it hasn't skipped a beat in two years and approx. 1500 miles of riding. They are a little loud but certainly pep up the motor a little. Probably by letting it breath a little more.
