    Big red motor swap question

Hey all would a motor from a 1985 200x fit in a 1982 Big Red 200E? Besides the motor, do I need to use the 200X wiring harness, CDI, etc? Or is it just plug n play?

    Thanks

It should be plug and play. But why would you want to put a 200x engine in a 200e just sounds a little strange.

Welp, the 200e motor blew up, and I have a parts bike 200x lying around. That's about the extent of the story right there. I thank you for your response.

The stator plugs will likely be different, but it will bolt in. Wiring is essentially the same, the colors should be a close match even if the plug doesn't. Most people end up going the other way, stuffing an auto-clutch engine into an X, but I like the sound of this swap. Should be fun!
