Looks like a long enough ride when it is cold !!! I was talking about this with another Michigan member today in Kalamazoo and we both exspressed the same feeling. Not to sure about RIVER ice riding at all.
    Frozen lake oh heck yeah.
I have rode the frozen back waters of the river here in hometown I have grown up next to but it has to be very cold for long time to freeze over those boggy back waters. It is surprising how much riding area can be had on the river overflow back woods ice but lots of trees to dodge.

Was hoping you knew of some lol. In terms of local riding we generally just ride the dirt roads out in the country and stop off at some little trails here and there. River riding sounds like fun though!

    There is... see this page..

    http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7...5352--,00.html

    The meat of the page...

"Individuals riding in any places other than private property (trails or otherwise) pay $26.25 annually. Riders wishing to use state-designated trails pay an additional $10 annually, for a total of $36.25. The additional revenue will allow the DNR to add miles of trails and connections to communities and provide for the inspection, maintenance and improved safety of the trail network."

Not sure about where you are but the cold weather is sloooow to come up here. Ponds are frozen but it's going to be December before our small lakes are decent. Who know's about the big lake? Might be the end of December before we get on that. River riding is fun; just have to mindful of the curents underneath. Some places may be frozen to the bottom and others will have just a couple of inches due to fast water; usually on the outward parts of a bend. Ride where the sleds go and you'll be fine.

    Winter fun!!!
Hello from west Michigan I remember as a kid "1978ish"
spending hours on the snow and ice on my ATC90! Now I have 2 ATC90's and can ride with my son in the snow and re-live my childhood at the same time. Side by side drifting on ATC's nothing else like it! I still love it to this day, and I'm a old fart!
