who else completely dissembles their switches and refreshes them on a trike rebuild? some say they clean it, but I actually completely tear mine down and do a complete rebuild of my switches to ensure they work like new.



This is how far I take mine. I will even go so far as to unsolder, and re-solder fresh wire to the ends if needed so they work perfectly. I use die-electric grease on reassembly.

I do it, even the it can be a pain in the brass.

In the process of doing this now. Engine kill switch is working but light switch is no-go.

Yup, I do the same. The feel of smoothly operating switches makes a big difference to me. Its the same reason I'm a lever snob- new levers and perches on every build, even brand new Parts Unlimited house brand OEM replacements are better than worn out stock ones. Controls and suspension are 50% of the overall riding experience in my book.

I usually only would open up any of mine if there's an issue. I've opened a few and resoldered broken off wires. Opened key switches as well when they're not working, and cleaned the contacts, and reassembled with dielectric grease.
