    Custom swingarm 86/87 Tecate ???

I'm in the process of rebuilding an 87 Tecate and had few issues on the rear end. Wondering if anybody here is talented enough to fabricate an alloy or chromoly swingarm to fit the Tecate and run a trx250r or 450r rear axle setup? Few reasons- much more choice in sprockets, axles, hubs etc. also easy to get parts and wheels for

I have a HRE +3 with a Honda carrier, I'm very happy with it. The only thing I do t like is that it doesn't have a brake line holder on it, if I got another one I'd ask him to put something on
Looking for a Bassani silencer for a 2nd gen tecate, the style with the movable mount. 1st gen will work

you should plan to get the shock re-valved and depending on your weight a stiffer spring if you go with a longer swingarm, when i put a 2 inch over on my 86 Tecate the rear end became way, way to soft and springy due to the extra leverage now working against it

onformula1 here on the boards can take care of all your shock needs

Thanks guys, contacted hre am prices seem fair. I'm only looking at stock length, only reason for it is to have better options on axles and sprockets etc. also 250r looks a lot neater

What does a custom HRE arm cost?, just curious.

The Honda set-up is superior, IMHO.

It would not hurt to go plus 1" or 2"

Have you ever ridden a tecate with a stock swingarm? They are very light in the front, I'd recommend getting a +2. Especially if you're doing any engine work

I would take a look at Rodney Lewis, Jr. swingers. You can find him on Fbook here: https://www.facebook.com/hotrodzswingarms/?fref=ts
He has built multiple arms for me and is in the process of building a 2nd gen this week with a Honda carrier.

    Don't forget about hagens bolting extenders. It's a +6 .
I've ran one on my 87 since 05 w/o a issue. Anyone that has launched my trike on a drag strip can chime in if they want.
I have a +2 swingarm on my 86 but think I'm going back to stock for ice season.
