85 big red 250 wire harness fit an 86?

hey all,

i just traded a catylic converter for an 85 big red 250 parts trike for my good one (which i thought was also an 85 when i bought this one)

i ended up typing both vins into a decoder and found out my good one is actually an 86. was wondering what i can use from the 85 i really wanted it for the wire harness as I'm having some electrical gremlins and can't get my electric start working, ground wire is sparking, won't start with headlight off, cuts out when i turn it all the way to the right etc... was gonna try the harness off the 85, will it work?

Switch, cdi box and harness on the 85 are not the same as 86
