its been awhile, 84 200x project coming out well

Well folks, its been quite some time since I've been on the forums. I figure I'd let you guys in on my progress. So, I've posted a thread here a few months ago about my timing marks not being true to piston position. It turns out the flywheel nut was cross threaded and the whole flywheel had sheared the keyways for the woodruff key. But, 1 good ride after that discovery, I toasted that motor.

I have purchased a complete, nice condition 1984 200S for donor motor. The gentleman that owned it before had recieved it with the sparkplug not installed. The top end was siezed. The bottom end was perfect. So sold the nice roller to a good friend of mine and began rebuilding the 200s motor

I found a 200x cylinder, and 200x head to top on the bottom end. I ended needing to bore the cylinder to 66mm.
Purchased a good used XR200r camshaft. And a wiseco 12:1 compression piston.

Once i got the motor in, and broke it in through a few heat cycles, my clutch decided it wanted to slip in 3rd gear under heavy acceleration. So then, I bought a KG performance clutch and EBC heavy duty springs. (15% heavier). I must say, I personally like having more tension on the gearshifter. And this clutch grabs excellent.

I'll post Pics and such when I can. This has been a really fun project! And btw, i tossed the 400ex hubs on it. The little extra width and clean look brought me some smiles.

Looks awesome. I'm in the process of doing something similar. Mine is all in pieces at the moment. Just wondering what all the engine work ran you? Parts and cost? It won't help me much being up in Canada but if I double the price it'll be a close ballpark

Welps, lets just say, the 200x cylinder and cylinder head i had to ourchase on ebay. Both of those parts costed me 140 dollars free shipped. Then, a used, good condition xr200r cam on ebay ran me about 50 dollars, free shipped also. The 66mm 12:1 compression piston ran me about 65 dollars. I'll do a better breakdown when i have the opportunity.
