klt200C spark issue

i have a 84' Kawasaki KLT200C. it ran and now i lost spark. i put a new spark plug in, changed the switch and even bypassed the switch. still no spark. they only time i get any spark is when i and cranking it over and i turn the switch off it will spark once and that is it? any ideas??

If it's any help, I was working on a KLF300b which didn't spark if turned over on the starter, but did spark if turned over on the kicker. It would fire but wouldn't run. The loom was a real mess and only by trial and error discovered that by touching a particular wire to earth it fired straight up on the electric and ran!
I don't really know anything much about Kawasaki's (or Honda's apparently if you read my other thread!) but I would suggest checking all your earthing points.
