250 ES starter question HELP!!!!!!

I have an 85 250 ES i am restoring, i ordered a starter rebuild kit of ebay and when it showed up was wrong, its the right kit for an 85 but my starter is not an 85, does the 87 starter fit an 85, rebuild kit for 87 starter looks similar to what I have, any help greatly appreciated, thanks

i have an 86 250es and a 85 250 es for parts, both starters look exactly like that, my 85 is actually the same brand name

thanks, i guess its the right one then, I already rebuilt it, motor is in pieces waiting for parts, Starter is working now after rebuild, if u get a chance can you get me a measurement of the length of the shaft on the front of your starter, thanks for your help

will do next time I'm out in the garage, its still attached to the 85 engine. i remember it being roughly about 1 inch long but will double check.
