Ok so I have been doing my research on how to polish my rear fenders and have found a few different ways. The first is sandpaper soapy water and a lot of patients. Second is chemically with 60/40 mix of boiled linseed oil and paint thinner mix. Third is similar to the first but with a razorblade, steel wool and polish. Now my question is, has anyone done this recently and what method do you think will give the best results? Thanks in advance for the help
I have not tried it myself but this video of a guy doing the soap and sandpaper to restore a fuel tank would be my first choice of method.

Wet sanding followed by buffing is the best method. You can start with a blade to scrape the first layer but be careful. Use caution sanding edges and curved areas. I end with 2000 grit 3m wet/dry then buff with no compound and a synthetic fiber pad. Buff til you get the desired sheen.

The above posters are correct. I have tried all of the methods you mentioned and sanding followed by buffing is the best method by far. It can also be VERY time consuming, might want to bring them in and do it in front of the TV or something. If they are oxidized or very faded you may want to start with a razor blade, just make sure to be gentle as to not dig in to the plastics.

Thank you for the feedback.I had already watched the plastic tank video and i watched a video of the linseed oil and paint thinner but that way didn't get it nearly as shinny. Guess I know what im doing for the next couple of weeks
