    New 1985 250sx Owner

I've just bought my third atc and, lord willing, not my last. Years ago, I bought 2 1985 Big Reds for next to nothing, slapped a new tire on one and planned to use the other for parts. I was young, and my mom threw a fit so I had to sell them due to the fact that she thought I'd kill myself on one of them. Now, older and knowing a little more, I picked up a 250sx from a buddy for 400 bucks. Believe it's completely stock other than some ugly sheet metal rear fender covers/mods. I intend to get it back to almost 100% restored and stock, other than a few things such as fenders and exhaust. If anyone could give any tip as to what to watch out for with these models, all the help I can get would be much appreciated.

    Thanks, Chandler.

    Post up some pics!

Tips, Regular maintenance. Keep the diff oil, and engine oil clean and it will run forever.

I appreciate the comments. As soon as I can, I'll get some pictures uploaded so y'all can see these ugly sheet metal things on my fenders.

Here she is! One question, did I pay too much? I figured 400 was reasonable. If not, I got it any way!

    Very nice.
a couple hundred bucks and it will be worth a grand.
Metal fenders scare me for their laceration option.

Change all fluids incl rear diff gear oil as mentioned by UPNATM
Fresh alcohol free gas and be careful of the oil filter sequence as it can instantly starve oil to the top end.

Little new to this. Oil filter sequence? And what weight fluid do I need to put in the diff? It will definitely be getting new fenders!
