Need some help/info on shipping an atv

I'm looking to buy a trike out of kansas, I have used fastenal before but they won't ship an atv because of potential damage claims, even if it is crated. Soooooooo, does anyone have any input on shipping it? Small trike, suspended 70. Needs to go from kansas to northern Indiana. I'm not against driving to get it, just, looking at my options here. Any input would be appreciated.

one option is to use "USHIP" . . it is a site where shippers and people that need shipping can connect.

you post the item you want shipped and the dates it can be picked up and delivered and the price you are willing to pay, and shippers that can do it will contact you . . i think the USHIP site gets 10% from the transporter . . there is also a feedback section for everyone.

i shipped several things thru there including some expensive classic cars and never had a problem . . sometimes a car carrier is going empty one direction so he will look for things he can ship in that direction . . i got a 67 mustang convertible shipped out west from back east in an enclosed 2 car hauler door to door for only $350.00 and it would have cost me around $600.00 or more with the usual carriers i use.
