Went down, but got lucky and only snapped the brake handle perch on 200m

Slid on the snow and tipped my '85 200M at low speed. I got lucky, because at 70 years of age, my bones are more brittle than most trike parts. I only strained some muscles.

BUT, the ?perch? for the left brake lever snapped. I don't use that control often, but it also has the engagement bail for the wheel lock and that I need when stopping on hills.

It's a clean break, and appears to be sintered aluminum. Can I use JB Weld to patch it, since it will only get real pressure pushing it together and not at any bias or angle or flex?

I've found a couple of assemblies on eBay, but they seem to stop at 1983 versions, although they look very similar, or the same in the photos.

So, will JB Weld work, or is there some other inexpensive adhesive/technique to put the perch back together?

    Thank you, very much.

I doubt that can be fixed to function, hopefully someone knows of a replacement that works.

    Glad to hear you're ok

Thank you, folks. I clicked on the dratv link which took me to Beatrice site, ordered and found...AFTER I had given my PayPal info, that the shipping for a $7.50 item is $17.26 !!!

    Amazing.

I should have waited and shopped eBay. Live and learn.

That notwithstanding, I really appreciate the courtesy and knowledge that you guys shared with me.

    Thank you, very much.

Well, figure if I can complain about shipping charges, it is only fair to post the remarkable adjustment made by dratv/Beatrice.

Here's the email I got in response to an email I sent suggesting that the shipping fee was disproportionate.

"BEATRICE ATV just sent you a partial refund of $10.47 USD for your purchase.

If you have any questions about this refund, please contact BEATRICE ATV.

The refund will go to the card you paid with.

To see all the transaction details, please log into your PayPal account. It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in your account.

I did not expect any action, but contacted them to indicate my negative reaction. (I was polite.)

So, instead of $24 something, the cost will be more like $15. That's fair.
