85 honda 250r

Hi, I have been riding threewheelers for a while and just come across a 1985 honda atc 250r The guy says it has FMH exhaust on it. He says when he bought it the guy had bored it, but he doesnt remember how much. It also has a new front fender and headlight housing. He is asking $2800 for it, is this a reasonable offer or should i try to negotiate with him about it?

3rd gen R prices are regionally dependent. I don't really know what the go for near you and how often the come up for sale.

But that won't stop me from giving an opinion:

For $2800, he could at least clean it.

And polish the tank.

And rebuild the forks and front brakes that are probably ruined by the leaking forks.

And it would be nice to have the OEM rear wheels and grab bar.

But it has a nice pipe and looks like a DuraBlue axle.
