85 Ytm 200e

So I had done some work on this guy's 4 and 3 wheelers and the were all Honda in return the guy gave me a 85 Ytm 200e with reverse and is shaft driven... I brought it home and started doing my normal tear down and cleaning i.e the carb and fuel system no I put it all back together and it will.turn over and run for a couple of seconds but then shuts down... in order for it to start I have to have the choke on and throttle wide open?! When I pull the plug and use the pull start it spits out a ton of gas out of the spark plug hole I'm not sure what the heck is going on with this thing can anyone help?

So I figured out what the problem was. It was the adjustments on the carb needed to be reset and the muffler was all blocked up I dropped the exhaust pipe and tried to blow air threw the pipe and sure enough no air came out the other end so I cut the muffler off and tried running straight pipe and boom it started and ran just fine so I punched the holes open in the muffler and am going to weld it back up some time soon
