Doe's anybody on here drive one of the older bodystyle Rangers (up to 93) with the 4.0 and 4x4? What kind of gas mileage do you get? Are there anything really wrong with them? Same for Bronco IIs.

we got a 91 ranger 4x4 at the farm, it's the feed truck, 5 speed stick, V6, cant kill it and god knows we try, had to do clutch last fall cause it's geard low enough, unless you put it in 4 low but some people who work at the farm arnt bright enough to think of that, insted thay ride the clutch at 4 grand, anyway ya cant kill the motor, we've over loaded it countless times and she's still going strong.

I don't know if you're aware or not, but Bronco IIs never came with the 4.0L. The 2.9L V6 was the biggest engine to go in them. It is a good engine too.
If you're looking for a rig (and that bodystyle) I suggest a 89-92 Ranger, or an 89-90 Bronco II. Do also consider a 91-94, 2 door Explorer. They came with the 4.0L, better axles than the Bronco II, and are only about 7 inches longer in the wheelbase.
My recomendations will change if you're looking for a daily driver, or something you may turn into a fourbyer.
I can talk volumes on these rigs, ask some more specific questions if you please.
Do check out, www.therangerstation.com, they have an incredible amount of information stored there and in the forums.
