I just purchased a shindy kit for my 83 185s. The emulsion tube replacement is very different from the original. Is this correct? The new one is shorter and gets narrower. New and improved or wrong?

Those carb kits are kind of generic. The shindy brand is good, but still far from perfect. I usually use only what I need from them and put the rest with my spare jets and needles. Emulsion tubes are pretty easy to clean so that's usually what I do. I buy carb kits for the gaskets, o rings, and the adjustment screw. I say to try both and see which one suits your ride better.

What's wrong with the old one? Pic?
