    need some help

I'm looking to see if there is anyone in Colorado Springs that can help me out with my 83' Honda ATC 200x. I've been messing with this thing for years.

Well when i push the throttle it dies. Also sounds like a ticking noise in the top end.

Quick guess but not getting enough gas. Try cleaning the carb. And the noise could be the valves out of adjustment. Get a manual and follow the troubleshooting guides

Is it worse when the engine is cold or hot?

Post a photo of your spark plug.

    Nearly white porcelain is lean.

    Black dry porcelain is rich.

    Lite tan is happy.

Try it with the choke half on then full on.

Try it with the air box lid off.

Try it with the air filter removed.

Try it with the clip on the needle raised to the top of the needle.

A cleaning won't cut it likely. You need to rebuild the carb. The ticking noise is either valves, improper cam chain tensioner adjustment or con rod bearing going bad.

I can get it too start with choke up. But it's a pain to start. Cleaned carb and had it rebuilt already.

Like I said at the beginning, it'd be easier if someone was in the same town. Cause non of this is helping at all

If it's any help, amazon has carbs brand new for around $20. With mine I figured for the price it was an easy choice to just replace the whole thing. Then go from there.

Your plug indicates a Rich condition. What size pilot and main jet are you running?
