    looking for Yamaha advice

Last night I picked a 1985 ytm225 to replace the one I welded a four wheeler front end on years ago. I assume that it's a dx model because it has no reverse. I'd like to put the engine off of the other one on this and have a trike with reverse. My question is since this one doesn't have reverse, will it hurt anything to put an engine with reverse on it? They're both shaft drive, and I can't see where that would make any difference. Any ideas?

It's fine, have fun. Gotta remove the swingarm to remove the engines.

Just kick it over in the opposite direction to run it in reverse!

How does he kick it both ways?? Isn't it an electric start anyhow.

Thanks guys. I didn't think the gears in the differential would care which way they turned. It's good to know about the swingarm removal ahead of time. That probably saved me a couple of hours of cussing right there!
