Seriously wondering why my auto x with a 175 s engine has springs in the foot pegs. Does anyone know why this is?

So that if you hit something with the bottom of the foot peg, it can rotate up instead of bend or break. The spring then allows the peg to pivot back into place.

Its so you don't bend or break your leg when it slips of the peg . I wouldn't get on anything that didn't have the springs unless it had nerf bars with the netting.
Yup, spring is there as a return spring, in case trail debris or the likely smacks into the peg. Peg rotates out,of the way so it doesn't get bent or,hung up, spring pushes it back into place. Mx bikes are, like that, so when I'm carving a,corner, ( or pegs are dragging through a rut,) the peg bends back out,of the way, then when you exit, said corner spring pushes peg back into its correct position.
Okay thank you it makes sense now
