    air filter

hey guys so i have a 125m and its got a uni air filter on it, problem is it wont idle, but whenever i take the filter off it idles perfect, so i cleaned the filter in hot soap water and put it back on and it does run mildly better but still dies, should i just get a k and n filter for more air flow? seems like this filter is suffocating the bike of air

Unless the filter is over oiled or has a block in it, airflow will not be restricted. Used UNI's all my life and never had one cut airflow. Maybe turn up the idle?

it does seem to have a bit of oil on it but not all over it. ive messed with the air and idle screws a bunch, dosnt respond to the idle screw at all and when i turn the air screw all in it over idles like its 1/5th throtle, but as soon as i turn it even the slightest bit back, it slows way down and eventually dies after about 20-30 seconds

Ahhhh! All telltale signs that the carb needs to be cleaned and rebuilt. The reason you are probably choking it with the air filter on is because the air inlets got crap in them. Clean the carb and rebuild with a good kit like shindy. Cheap on eBay.

See if all balls sells a replacement race and bearing kit for that model. They should.

Use a punch to knock out old races, seat new ones in steering neck, grease bearings, tighten everything up. That's the kit you want.
