    Buying a 86 250ES for $200 CAD

I'm buying an 86 250ES for $200, fenders are broken but all the pieces are there, it has brand new IPT mud lites on the back, and it needs a carb clean but runs, and the starter solenoid isn't working but it has a key and the kickstarter works perfectly fine. I have no pictures, and I would just like to hear other peoples opinions on if the 250es is a good bike, this is the first one I've owned.
1983 ATC 185s 200 jug bored .20 9.5:1 Naumura piston. Fast as ass when its not stretching the drive chain or stripping hubs.
1986 ATC 250ES. *Total garbage trying to sell it*
1983 YTM 200E. Runs good, forks are super bent but aside from that its mint.
1984 YTM 200L. Barn find, everything is mint except the bottom end is bad... *waiting on a new engine*

They are awesome trikes. But after 30 years, the starter motors are going bad. You should be able to get it rebuilt fairly cheaply.

The is still an option from Honda, but rather expensive ($60 for US price). I have seen "aftermarket" ones likely from china on ebay cheaper in the past though.

The orig big red was the 82-83 200E, chain drive no reverse...
Then it was upgraded to a 84 200ES, shaft drive with reverse...
Then the 200ES was completely re-designed into the 250es, full suspension! Sadly they dropped the high/low range sub trans and opted for a "super low" first gear.

Long story short, the 250es is the best machine in the Honda line up for work, hulling, general yard type of stuff. Is it a good machine? Yes, basically all of the hondas are great machines. Is it fast.... well depends what is fast for you =). They top out probably 45-50mph (250sx of mine goes around 52mph, but it is something like 100lb lighter).

For $200, you can't really beat the price. The rear diff goes for that on ebay alone.
