I'm wanting to repaint my front and rear racks along with the head light guard on a 200es. I asked someone I know if they can sand blast it but they might not because their sanding box machine might be too small. I'm awaiting their reply. So what oaky remedy can I use to get rid of the rust and prep the racks?

get busy with a wire wheel on a grinder. It will suck. Ive used paint stripper and ive never liked it. I never got somthing stripped nicely using that stuff.

Got the holeshot
Take it to a sandblaster that can fit it in their cabinet. Only way to properly do it, that or have it chemically stripped.

Elbow grease works, especially if you plan to spray can it. In that case you don't want to remove any good existing paint as it will be better than anything you can add from a can, just get the rust off, but blasting them and getting them powder coated is the way to go if you want it to last for years to come. Are you adding any hooks or loops? I always thought stock racks were lacking in that department. If so, now is the time to do it.

Ever catch the top of your foot or shin on those rear racks El? Can Ams come stock like that ,and there is a def learning curve to mounting one properly

3"Orbital sander and time is another option. There are also spot blasters but they are messy. If you are using aerosol, I like VHT Roll Bar and Chassis paint. It is extremely durable.

if you are doing to sand it , get some sanding sponges from the paint store .

I think I'm going to take a wire brush to it I've got a hand held so it'll be easy. And if the paint peels off I'll just spray over it again

Never could figure out what good the stock rack was for short of a hay bale or a deer corpse, so the stocker was cut up to augment this rack.

well. I'm wanting to out some ammo cans on the rear rack one on each side like the one in the pic. I was going to weld them on but someone I know mentioned making brackets so I can take them off when needed
