Honda ATC185S - Flywheel inspection cap

    Hi,

On my 185s engine, the inspection cap that is right above the flywheel was siezed in place. I got most of it out, but I want to drill the rest out with the proper drill bit, tap it, and get a new inspection plug. Does anyone know what size of thread this is? Thanks

Anyone know? Or is it some special thread that I can't get a tap for.

    Thanks

Barnboy, I can send you a whole new side cover for cheap. Realistically you could over size it and put whatever type plug you want in it as long as it doesn't drop down lower than original. PM me if interested.

Coolpool, thanks for the offer, I appreciate it. I think I will just get a standard cap and tap it out to whatever size that is.

Yeah I had the same issue with mine, I drilled it out as big as I could, then used a flat head screwdriver & to carefully chip the rest of the seized cap out of the thread, it actually all came out with no damage to thread & a new replacement screwed in easily.
